I want to share with you a typical example of Carinn's ability to focus.
Last night we were getting ready for family prayer and this is what happened:
Carinn picked up a toy milk carton from the play kitchen set.
Carinn: "Juice! Mmmm." She pretends to take a drink and smacks her lips in satisfaction.
Mom: "Okay, let's pray."
Dad: "Fold your arms."
Carinn: "How!" (meaning "cow" - she doesn't usually start her words with the consonants yet)
Mom: "Yes, cow."
Carinn: "Hoo!" (meaning "moo" - and she usually speaks in exclamations because she's excited to know so much)
Mom: "Yes, cow says moo. Let's say prayer."
Dad: "Carinn, it's time to pray."
Carinn: "Baby!" (She picks up a little baby doll.)
Mom: "Yes, that's a baby. Let's pray!"
Carinn: She gives the baby a big hug and a big kiss.
Dad: "Fold your arms, Carinn. It's prayer time!!"
It's moments like this (and they've been happenning very often lately) that make us laugh and realize what a blessing it is to have such wonderful daughters. Now let's just hope we always think they're wonderful!
